At a press conference organized by an organization called Mom and Pop Merchants of New York City, the Secretary General of NCOGA, called on the Mayor and the City Council to help the merchants relocate, rather than evicting them completely and leaving them to fend for themselves. Council members Hiram Montserrat and Charles Barron, also called on the Mayor to act and save those 700 jobs, the number of employees at the terminal market. We are all aware that a lot of those businesses are Ghanaian owned, and most of us shop there. The National Council is calling on all Ghanaians to support this initiative and help save the Terminal Market.

You can contact your city council member, mayor’s office, as well as office of the Bronx Borough President to express your support for the Market and urge them to save the market.
